The Jewel of the Lakshadweep, Bangaram Island is an uninhabited haven. Barring the occasional visitor from nearby Agatti (where the airport is situated), the only residents are the resort staff.

Bangaram presents a breathtaking spectacle of sparkling coral reefs, turquoise blue lagoons, silvery beaches and lush green coconut palms. All preserved in the state little different from the days of Charam Perumal's reign.Leaving the visitor with a difficult choice. Activity or inactivity?

The more unhurried can simply laze on the silver beaches, soak in the sun, listen to the sound of the waves and watch the swaying of the palms.
The island feels like it was designed specifically for languid strolls, to watch the beach dances of hermit crabs and listen to the raucous music of the seabirds.
But should you feel the need for a little more adventure on your holiday, Bangaram island offers a whole new set of activities.

Accommodation.
Accommodation on the island is simple, unpretentious, yet comfortable. Set in 128 acres, there are 30 tiled -roof beach huts, each with its own palm-thatched verandah, en suite bathroom, ceiling fan and fridge. In a bit to preserve Bangaram's unique environment, a hotel atmosphere is avoided intentionally, but there are enough creature comforts to ensure your stay is an enjoyable one.

There are also four bungalows, which are bigger and offer more privacy. At the heart of the resort is the restaurant hut. It's a little architectural marvel, being made entirely out of bamboo and palm fronds, around one tall central pole.

Activities.
The resort offers you a variety of outdoor pursuits - scuba diving, snorkelling, deep sea fishing, kayaking and so on..

A well-equipped and professionally manned Scuba Diving facility is available at the resort. As a diving location, the virgin reefs of Bangaram have been ranked by experienced divers as being among the best anywhere. Recently an ancient shipwreck was discovered. Besides coral, the reef abounds in undersea life, particularly game fish and turtles. Diving sites are off the reefs and are reached by boat.

Diving courses and lagoon diving are offered for beginners. Diving is permitted only within safe depths around 30 meters. Visitors can avail of a decompression chamber, except from 15 May to 15 September.

For deep sea big game fishing, Bangaram is an ideal location. Record size Barracuda, Sailfish, Yellowfin, Travelly and Wahoo have often been landed. Local boats are available here for rent with experienced crew. Serious anglers are advised to bring their own equipment.

Ayurveda
With such peace and natural beauty surrounding you, Bangaram Island is the ideal place to try an ayurvedic treatment, or even just a relaxing massage. Ayurveda is the Indian system of traditional medicine, and it's a great way to treat niggling, chronic health problems.

2. AGATTI ISLAND BEACH RESORT

Agatti Island Beach Resort presents a breath taking spectacle of sparkling coral reefs, turquoise blue lagoons, silvery beaches and lush green coconut palms. The resort is located in the most serene spot of the Island. Agatti Island Beach Resorts offers some of the best swimming beaches in the world. The resort has a good beach and lagoon on to its front. The lagoon is huge, shallow, leaving a lot of space for a good swim. Additional beauty is added by the numerous coconut trees surrounding the resort.

The hosts of the resort are very friendly and well mannered and will attend to the guests needs instantly. The reception is built in traditional and local style. The average transfer time from the Agatti Airport is a two minute walk. There is a specialized restaurant at the beach resort. Guests are served continental, chinese and local cuisine. Jain food is also served at the restaurant. Guests are given the option of indoor or outdoor dining. Special arrangements are made for guests who wish to have the food outside, under the cool shade of the tall coconut trees. Moreover, Barbeque are arranged for guests who catch fish from the lagoon.

Accommodation

Agatti Island Beach Resort offers twenty independent cottages, Air conditioned and Non Air conditioned. There are two categories of cottages: Standard and Deluxe cottages. Standard cottages are located on the beach in between lush green coconut trees. They are smaller than the Deluxe cottages but as much cozy. Deluxe cottages are located on the beach and are beach facing. These cottages are quiet large with added facilities like fridge and television (only in Air conditioned cottage). All cottages are eco-friendly and have a calm atmosphere.

The resort also has facilities for arranging business conferences up to 40 persons.
